We first met Yvette and Josh at Seanee and Jeremy’s wedding last summer (Josh and Seanee are twins). Seanee had hinted a couple of times that Josh was about to propose, so we were very excited when they contacted us to see if we’d photograph their wedding Brook Forest Inn wedding. Not only was it in a beautiful historic venue, but knowing half of the family already, we knew it was going to be a great party.
month had been unusually rainy for Colorado, so our fingers were crossed not only that there wouldn’t be rain on the wedding day, but also that the creek wouldn’t have flooded out the chosen ceremony site. When we arrived, we saw that the creek was high, but not too high. And, despite a lot of angry thunder in the morning (and hail 10 minutes before the ceremony was about to begin!), the sky cleared up just long enough for the ceremony to take place outside.
After exchanging rings—designed and crafted by Josh—and vows in front of their friends and family, we made good use of the mountain venue and an umbrella to get some photos of the newlyweds. They even let us sneak them out of their party for a few nighttime photos with an angry sky as the backdrop. Take a look at some of our favorites from the day!
