We hit the road and headed out to Michigan to photograph our next two weddings. Starting in Kalamazoo at the Haven Church, we hung out with RaeAnn and Jeremy all day, from hair and makeup, to a very rainy fire truck ride, ending with a dramatic nighttime photo of the happy newlyweds in the rain. Needless to say, we got a lot of great shots, got a little bit wet (we brought the rain with us) and had a lot of fun!
RaeAnn and Jeremy radiated happiness all day long; even the rain that persisted couldn’t dampen their moods. Every part of the day had its own personal touch, from Jeremy’s Batman socks to RaeAnn walking down the aisle in front of a photo of her as a flower girl escorted by her father, to the 1950s fire truck that carted the guys through town to the reception at the Kalamazoo Country Club. They even determined that for a firefighter and his new bride, an axe is far superior to a simple cake knife!
As the party wound down, RaeAnn and Jeremy still had enough energy to follow us outside into the pouring rain so we could craft some breathtaking images.
Jeremy and his groomsmen on the firetruck are the perfect example of how formal wedding portraits don’t have to be formal (courtesy of the ISPWP)!
