Lindsey and Jake’s wedding ended up being the perfect example of how weddings have a life of their own and refuse to follow plans carefully made by mere humans. Nevertheless, Lindsey and Jake were the perfect example of how, as a couple, to best navigate the day with poise. When all was said and done, the only thing that mattered to them was that they got married.
The celebration took place at Lindsey’s family farm, River Lily Farm, in Ogunquit, Maine. When we arrived, the sky was overcast and there was a light mist. Despite predictions from the Weather Channel, instead of dissipating, the mist turned into a drizzle and then a downpour. After postponing the ceremony to see if we could wait out the rain, they decided to move forward with everyone cozied up beneath the tent.
In front of family and friends, Lindsey and Jake promised they were a team, through the sun and the rain, no matter what life threw their way. They sealed the deal with a kiss and, since it was still too wet for family photos, we got down to partying!
During a short break in the rain, we spirited the newlyweds away from the party to do some more creative and fun shots in a beautiful grove by the river. It felt a world away from the party that was going on just a short distance behind us. The day wrapped up with Lindsey, Jake and their closest friends hopping into a Boston-bound limo to continue the celebration before they headed off to Disney World for their honeymoon.
